Multichannel Content and Service Production
Neo Arena is the leading initiative of the Oulu-based special expertise coalition Xpolis. There was a void in northern Finland for a broad-base R&D project for developing technology and content for multichannel distribution. The Neo Arena initiative responded to the need and began testing services for the commercial viability of multichannel distribution platforms. Under consideration were also the legislative requirements of such concerns as far as they relate to copyright questions.
The Neo Arena initiative set up a multichannel distribution system, which enabled swift and efficient productions for multichannel distribution to different media. A content production team produced material to the New Arena channel. Research aspects were integrated in all productions and the productions were archived in the Video on Demand archives. Research was conducted on technology and content in the Neo Arena productions. A vast number of professionals from various backgrounds were involved in executing the projects.
The Multichannel Distribution Toolbox
Neo Arena has collected the findings of its first work packages into a single volume. The Multichannel Distribution Toolbox is published as an electronic wiki.
New visions and experiences are continuous as the technology develops and the work goes on. If you feel that you could help us develop The Multichannel Distribution Toolbox, please contact ulla.alakangas@neoarena.fi in order to obtain rights to update the wiki toolbox.
New Business Opportunities with Piloting
For Neo Arena, 2008 and 2009 differ from previous years in that Neo Arena is implementing EU-funded pilot projects, i.e. productions which aim at opening business opportunities within multichannel distribution. More about piloting >>
